A Few Of My Favourite Felt Things

Here are a few of the things I have been making lately.

ABOVE: Felt flowers.
These are bigger than my hand and make beautiful brooches, hair accessories or decor items.

ABOVE: Fairy LED lights.
Pods and Hanging Flowers with LED lights that change colours.

ABOVE: Shawl/Vest
These are a nunofelt item that works like a cross between a shawl and a vest.
They are made from hand dyed tissue silk with hand dyed merino wool felted in like leaves.
I am happy to custom make these to fit and in your choice of colours. Contact me via my etsy shop,
if you want to know more.

Pretty packaging

A lot of people like to have the lovely selections they purchase off Etsy gift wrapped at this time of year. And I think it's a nice idea too. But you don't want to add to their postage costs by making the wrapping bulky or heavy.

So I've designed a new gift card to use as packaging for some of my items this holiday season. Why a card? Well my butterflys, fish and flowers are quite flat. They post nicely inside a card, which gives them a little extra protection on the journey too.
I can print them as I need them. I can make them in different colors if I choose. Add extra decoration to them, like glitter for example. On the front is enough space for someone to write a message, if they are giving it to someone else. Or, if the buyer has asked me to send it directly to someone else, I can print a message to the recipient, if the buyer wants. And it doesn't add to the postage costs at all.

Everlasting Flower Brooch

It's been a while between posts and I have been very busy. Not just with the felting, but at this time of year all the bellydance groups have gatherings to showcase what they have been up to all year. So I have been shimmying in sparkley silks and bright colours all month. No pics of that yet. Maybe another post. But I have been making things to give to my special friends and to sell at my local markets. These everlasting flowers are a great present, because, well, they last. They say all the things a flower says, but they go on saying it long beyond the use-by date of a cut flower. Plus you can wrap them with your very own hands and send them overseas. I wear them on coat and jacket lapels, on hats and bags, to keep a scarf in place, or just to brighten up a T-shirt. They are listed in my etsy shop here http://www.etsy.com/shop/BeljaysFeltnArt?section_id=7123447 I'm trying to list a new one each day, so pop in regularly to have a look.
